When I announced my big move, I was lucky enough to be at a standstill. I had just finished my round of editing of my debut novel, as well as a draft and an edit of a shorter story. I had the option of moving on, but I had to turn my attention to packing and prepping for the move. So writing came to a standstill.

It was weird to not write for an entire month. It’s a part of me and my daily life. I write more than just my novels, and even that work had to come to a standstill while I focused on the move. Event though we’ve moved and started ‘living’ again, it’s been hard to get out of that standstill. What direction do I go? What do I start with? What do I shove to the side for a little longer while I get my groove back.

So, it’s a standstill. Writing these blogs has started to break the standstill and I’m getting comfortable with a daily writing and/or editing habit. Big things are in the works, so stay tuned to my blog and Facebook page for updates.

Have you ever found yourself at a standstill between projects or events? How did you get back into the groove? Let’s talk on Facebook!
